A Journey Back in Time, Historical Treasures of Surrey Hills.
Renaissance Living and The Surrey Hills Historical Society presented A Journey back in time, Historical Treasures of Surrey Hills.
On the 14th of October Sue Barnett from the Surrey Hills Historical Society gave a very informative and entertaining presentation to 30 of our residents and guests. Featuring some amazing old photos of very familiar places as well as well known historical families and some great memories for some of our residents as we saw some school photos from the 1930’s from schools they attended (in some cases only a year or two after the photos were taken 😊)
The food by Gourmet Touch was fantastic and very much appreciated as it always is, the sausage rolls were a personal highlight but you couldn’t fault any of it and it was too hard to say no to the little deserts. We had a fabulous door prize, a Hamper so kindly donated by the IGA on Through Road that included some lovely wines and tasty treats. It was won by one of our residents (Sue) guest which was great.
It was a great journey down memory lane and a fascinating look back and what was and reflect on what is now that sparked some great discussion and more than the odd childhood story.
